Following a record-breaking FY21, and despite an expected “pandemic bounce,” U.S. lotteries saw total revenues jump to $107.9 billion, up 2.5% from the previous year. The total returned to lotteries’ beneficiaries set a new industry record, surpassing $28.6 billion.
Canadian lotteries had an impressive fiscal year as well, sending more than C$3.5 billion to their governments for the causes they support.
That’s important revenue for education, the environment, economic development, cities and towns, senior citizens, veterans, and other essential programs.
