The West Virginia Lottery collected almost $101 million in gross revenue during the month of February, according to figures discussed last week during the Lottery Commission’s regular meeting.

Overall sales increased about 22%, or $18 million, from February 2021. Annual revenue for the current fiscal year are also $92 million more than the previous year, with more than $834 million collected so far this year, opposed to nearly $727 million collected at this time last year.

The state’s net income from February’s sales totaled just more than $57 million, which is about $1.5 million more than was collected in February 2021. February’s overall sales were 8% higher than January’s sales, according to the figures.

Limited Video Lottery collections grossed $39.9 million, which is a $5 million increase from this time last year.

Racetrack video lottery sales are also well above last year’s figures, with $38.1 million collected in February topping the $27.3 million collected in February 2021.

Taxes on sports wagers totaled $193,000 in February, pushing revenue past $3.2 million for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30.

Sports gambling revenue from this year are close to $450,000 above last year’s collections, according to the figures.
