The 2024 football season is nearly here, and the Houston Texans are teaming up with the Texas Lottery to once again give fans and lottery players the chance to win cash prizes, must-have items and experiences.

The latest Houston Texans scratch ticket game offers more than $17 million in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $100,000 and 10 runner-up prizes of $5,000.

The collaboration between the two is in its 16th consecutive year. The latest version of the scratch ticket game launched on Monday, Aug. 19, and is available at Texas Lottery retailers where scratch ticket games are sold.

Gameplay in the $5 scratch ticket game consists of 20 player numbers that players try to match to five winning numbers. Prizes amounts for the game range from $5 to the $100,000 top prize. The odds of instantly winning the $100,000 top prize are 1-in-1.35 million. Overall odds of instantly winning any prize in the game are 1-in-3.79, including break-even prizes.

There are also five promotional second-chance drawings that include more than 860 noncash prizes. The drawings will be held throughout the run of the game and give players the chance to win experiential prizes, including a game trip that includes round-trip airfare on a private plane, a luxury suite and on-field contest experience, season tickets for two, and a merchandise prize pack.

Before entering nonwinning tickets into the drawings, Texas Lottery players must register or already be registered with the Texas Lottery Luck Zone. The five entry deadlines for the separate second-chance drawings are Sept. 20, Nov. 1, and Dec. 6, 2024, plus Jan. 17, 2025. The deadline for the final drawing will be determined at a later date.

Since the first Houston Texans scratch ticket game launched in 2009, Texans-themed games have generated more than $280 million in sales, according to the Texas Lottery. Of that total, $61.3 million has been transferred to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas.
